Grammy-winning rapper Eminem’s love for sneakers is turning into a business venture. New reports claim Slim Shady and other notable entertainers like Wale have invested into a start-up kicks website called StockX.
According to reports, Em, Wale and even Hollywood superstar Mark Wahlberg are fully behind getting StockX up-and-running in various facets of popular retail culture.
The company on Wednesday confirmed it closed on a round of funding that included some former investors, including rapper Eminem, and a handful of new investors including fashion designer Jon Buscemi, rapper Wale, Cleveland Browns cornerback Joe Haden, and TV host/radio personality DJ Skee. The money raised will be used to help StockX expand into other product categories, including watches and handbags, and also continue to grow the company’s sneaker business. (Fortune)
Over the past year, StockX has become a strong force in the sneaker reselling sphere.
