Em credited his time alongside Grey for influencing his decision to take part in the project.

“When I was working on Recovery I was introduced to Skylar by Alex Da Kid and I was blown away by her talent as both a songwriter and vocalist,” said Eminem. “This album is really going to give her a chance to connect with the fans who probably know her music , but might not know her yet. I think they will be as impressed as I am.” (Statement)

Grey also issued a statement speaking highly of what she expect to get from Slim Shady’s guidance.

“Putting out a debut album is a bit scary. I want it to be just right so I took some extra time to finish it. Eminem’s increased involvement has been such a blessing; I’m getting guidance from an artist I really admire and trust.” (Statement)

Reports claim a joint Em/Skylar record will get released around mid-December.

Fans will get a taste of what Grey and Shady have in store when the album’s first single, “C’mon Let Me Ride” (featuring Eminem and produced by Alex Da Kid) debuts digitally on December 11. Don’t Look Down is the current title of the anticipated project, which was previously called Invincible, and it’s due out in Spring 2013. (MTV)

Earlier this month, Skylar gave Em a shout-out on his 40th birthday.

“Wishing @Eminem a very happy birthday! It’s going to be a great year!,” she tweeted. (Skylar Grey’s Twitter)
