When asked to pick if he could only win one award, Alex admitted his work on both tracks and the recognition each received was enormous.

“It’s super hard to just pick one because they all mean so much to me,” Alex told SOHH when asked what nomination he would most want to win. “Different songs are from different periods of my life. ‘Airplanes’ was the first one I really did that really put me on the map. But getting nominated for ‘Song of the Year’ and ‘Record of the Year’ are probably the biggest ones and ‘Album of the Year,’ of course, so ‘I Love The Way You Lie’ getting those nominations, I would probably pick ‘Record of the Year’ as being the one [I want most.]” (SOHH)

Alex also told SOHH he predicted sweeping the competition and snagging all five nominations.

“[We’re gonna win all five nominations,] that’s what’s gonna happen,” Alex added, confidently. “[When it happens], I’ll get a t-shirt saying I got five Grammys just letting everybody know. Then I’ll let all the women in my life know just to brag. Then we’ll put [the achievement] on Wikipedia too. We’ll put it everywhere.” (SOHH)

Alex’s “Love the Way You Lie” collaborator Eminem leads this year’s 53rd Annual awards ceremony.

The rapper also known as Marshall Mathers received 10 total nominations including categories like Album of the Year for his CD Recovery, and Record and Song of the Year for “Love the Way You Lie,” his number one hit with Rihanna. Eminem was also well-represented in the rap categories, receiving additional nominations for Best Rap Song, Best Rap Album, Best Rap/Sung Collaboration and more. (WTMA News)

Pop star Bruno Mars followed closely behind Em with seven nominations.

Bruno Mars received the second-most nominations this year, with seven. Among his nods were in the categories of Record of the Year for his hit with B.o.B, “Nothin’ on You,” Song of the Year, for co-writing Cee-Lo Green‘s viral hit “Forget You,” and Producer of the Year, Non-Classical. Lady Antebellum, Lady Gaga and Jay-Z all received six nominations each. Jay-Z’s collaboration with Alicia Keys on “Empire State of Mind” earned him a nod in the Record of the Year category, while Lady Gaga was nominated in the Album of the Year category for The Fame Monster. Lady Antebellum were present in both the pop and country categories, including Record and Song of the Year for “Need You Now.” (ABC News Radio)

Alex Da Kid received Grammy nominations for: “Record of the Year”, “Song of the Year” “Best Rap Song” and “Best Rap/Sung Collaboration” for “Love the Way You Lie” and “Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals” for “Airplanes Part II.”

The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards will be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011 and will broadcast live on CBS at 8PM ET/PT.
