Atlanta's DJ Drama recently offered his take on the mounted tension between music rivals Rick Ross and Young Jeezy and revealed what key person could possibly bring both sides back together.
In Drama’s eyes, his Grand Hustle head honcho T.I. could serve as the middle man between both rap stars.
“Maybe they’re not gonna be friends, maybe they’re not gonna go out to dinner, but hopefully, we can probably get some music from it,” Drama said in an interview. “I’m thinking now that it’s a public situation, maybe that somebody can step in. Maybe Tip can do it. Nah, Tip can. Tip is, both of those guys are friends’ of Tip. I’m not gonna say it’s the first thing on his mind, but at the end of the day — if it was something I could do, I would love to do that because I respect both of them. It doesn’t seem like something that we can’t get past.” (This Is 50)
Earlier this month, Tip revealed his opinion on why the fight may have popped off at the BET Hip Hop Awards.
“I didn’t even know about the fight,” T.I. revealed in an interview. “Men everywhere, we have huge egos and lots of pride. I don’t know that particular incident personally, but most fights that I hear about, it’s about pride and ego. I can’t speak for every case. I don’t know much about this case.” (KTLA)
Fight footage initially hit the Internet and showed what exactly went down.
The BET Awards brawl between Rick Ross and Young Jeezy took an army of guards to break it up and left a trail of destruction backstage — and TMZ got the intense footage on tape. In the video, security can be seen stepping in between the various combatants almost immediately, separating everyone before the fight got out of hand. A shirtless Rick Ross can be seen yelling before being escorted away from the scene. Whoever Ross was yelling at tried to follow after him, but security stepped in before he could get there. There was one casualty however — a random mirror. According to Atlanta PD, no arrests were made. (TMZ)
Reports of the physical altercation landed online in late September.
During Saturday’s (September 29) taping for BET’s 2012 Hip-Hop Awards in Atlanta Rozay and the Snowman reportedly got into a shoving match backstage before the scuffle spilled outside into the parking lot. Shots were fired and at least one man was said to be arrested. That’s not all. Multiple sources who witnessed the fray confirmed to MTV News that Ross’ protégé Gunplay was also involved in fisticuffs with members of 50 Cent’s G-Unit camp. Gun was seen with visible wounds and a witness told us that the Miami MC was put into handcuffs and detained, but a separate source close to Gunplay told us that he was not arrested. (MTV)
