Drake’s Wish Can Still Come True, ATL Rapper Promises

Days after Young Money's Drake revealed his regret over not hopping on this summer's buzzing "Type of Way" anthem, Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan claims Drizzy still has time to make a contribution.

While the official track continues to gain momentum, Rich said the Young Money star could land a spot on the single’s upcoming remix.

He added that it’s definitely not too late to get him involved. “We still haven’t released the official remix, so it’s not too late for Drake,” he continued. “I’m gonna reach out to him and try to make this happen. I was just really surprised he even noticed the song and I’m just glad it’s [to his liking.]” And since the song has become such an anthem, you’d better expect that Drake would be joined by an all-star cast on the remix. “I’d get other people on it also, because the song definitely went to another level and right now I’m feeling a different type of way about a lot of things,” Quan added laughing. Rather than wait for Drake to peep the interview, Rich said he would reach out to Drizzy.

“We’ve been trying to keep [the features] a secret because when it hits it’s gonna hit hard. It’s partially done but I’m gonna reach out to Drake and see if we can make some magic, [because] I’ve always been a fan of his.” (MTV)

Earlier this week, the Toronto native went as far as to proclaim “Type of Way” the summer’s hottest record.

“That record is the song of the summer, I regret not getting on it, but I feel like now if I get on it, people are gonna be like ‘ah man you waited too long,'” he added. “I like to have the jump on it. I wish I would’ve written that record. That’s Toronto talk — you feel a type of way, that’s our lingo, so I should’ve probably been involved in that.” (MTV)

Drizzy recently noted the slew of high-profile releases this year made him step his game up for his upcoming solo LP.

“I remember coming into this year thinking, “How am I going to cut through all these people and shine?” I’ve never been part of a year when so many legends are dropping projects. How am I going to be seen? I’m going to be like the kid waving in the background in the photo with all of his tall relatives. And, I guess, those were my initial thoughts, and not to say that I haven’t enjoyed some of the stuff that has come out this year, but it didn’t pan out the way I thought it was going to. I think I am going for it, to really establish what are murmurs or things being said quietly, “Um, I think that Drake might actually…” On September 17th I want people to be like, “Oh, we were right.”” (XXL Magazine)
