OVO Sound boss Drake is a force in the music biz. The rap star’s Views album has already reached triple platinum status.

According to reports, Drizzy’s initial Apple Music exclusive has soared in album sales.

To no one’s surprise, Drake’s latest project, VIEWS is now certified triple-platinum. After reaching double-platinum about two months ago, Drizzy’s 2013 Nothing Was The Same album has also reached triple-platinum status this past March. Drake is currently on a positive wave with apparent projects alongside Gucci Mane and Kanye West in the works, respectively. (HYPEBEAST)

This week, Views fell to the new rap-themed Suicide Squad soundtrack on the album sales chart.

The all-star Suicide Squad soundtrack roars in at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, earning 182,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Aug. 11, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 128,000 were in traditional album sales — the best sales debut for a soundtrack in a year-and-a-half. Below Suicide Squad on the new Billboard 200, Drake’s Views holds at No. 2 with 73,000 units (down 9 percent). (Billboard)

Last week, Views fell to hip-hop star DJ Khaled‘s Major Key release.

Past reports revealed Khaled would edge Drake on the sales charts.

After 12 non-consecutive weeks at #1, Drake’s Views (YMCMB/Republic) has been dethroned by DJ Khaled’s Major Key (We The Best/Epic). Khaled lands at #1 on HITS’ Sales Plus Streaming (SPS) Chart with 96k, while Drake slides gracefully to #2 with nearly 80k. Khaled also stands as the top dog on the Album Sales Chart, as Major Key scores about 60k in album sales alone after a week-long Apple Music exclusivity period. (HITS Daily Double)
