OVO Sound boss Drake and Lauryn Hill have the Internet’s full attention. The music duo reportedly have some new music on deck.
This week, an alleged new collaboration snippet called “Showin Off” leaked online.
The rapper’s new song was prematurely posted on SoundCloud and has since been heard by countless individuals. As Capital Xtra notes, Drake’s record label Universal Music Group has issued a cease-and-desist letter to the person responsible for the leak, but that hasn’t stopped others from sharing recordings of the track. The anthem allegedly samples Lauryn Hill’s classic “Ex Factor” smash.
Despite the leaks being removed by the second, fans are already listening and reviewing Drake’s latest effort, which samples Lauryn Hill’s ‘Ex Factor’. “With your phone out, gotta hit them angles / With your phone out snapping like you famo,” Drizzy raps over the soulful sample. “And you’re showing off, but it’s alright / And you’re showing off, but it’s alright / It’s a short life.” (Capital Xtra)
Yesterday, the 6 God appeared to hint at having new music on deck in an Instagram post’s comments section.
