OVO Sound boss Drake isn’t letting a rumored free agency slow down his greatness. New reports claim the 6 God already has a new album lined up to drop when he signs on the dotted line.
According to reports, the 6 God is expected to soon receive a new record contact and schedule a studio release to accompany it.
Word is that Drake is at the end of his contractual obligations to the Young Money/Cash Money label — “Soon as this album drop I’m out of the deal,” he raps on the song “Is There More” — which is distributed through Universal Music Group’s Republic Records. And a well-placed source tells Variety that when Drake signs his next deal, he’ll have another release ready to drop to accompany the news — although a Universal source reveals that the artist is not leaving the label family any time soon.
