Young Money’s Drake is making sure his father still knows people in high places by having him hook up with rap stars French Montana and Snoop Dogg this week.
Drizzy showcased a few pics of his musician pops Dennis Graham on Instagram Wednesday (March 30).
Drake recently promised to deliver his long-awaited Views From The 6 album to fans soon.
The 29-year-old rapper performed at South by Southwest Festival (SXSW) in Austin, Texas, on Saturday night and on stage he told the crowd his fourth LP will drop very soon. Speaking to the crowd, he said: “Views From the 6 coming in I don’t know how many weeks. so I hope y’all enjoy that sh*t.” (Channel 24)
OVO Sound’s iLoveMakonnen recently hinted at an upcoming compilation album from Drake’s crew coming together.
“A collaboration album? [laughs] That is, uh, I can’t say too much but uh, yeah. It exists. We’ll just see when it comes out. [laughs] [Release date?] Maybe October – wouldn’t that be great? You never know.” (Huffington Post Live)
Recently, OVO Sound producer Noah “40” Shebib dished on what fans can expect from Drizzy’s upcoming Views From The 6 studio album.
“It’s going to be what everybody expects and wants from Drake and from us,” Mr. Shebib said. “A lot of introspection, very vivid. He’s discovering new flows, new cadences, new patterns.” As for the music, “I’m trying to find ways to pull more untraditional sounds in, to push the boundaries a little further.” The overall approach may be the same as the one that the duo has finely honed, but still, Mr. Shebib said, “Something about it should be special.” (New York Times)
