NFL superstar Odell Beckham Jr. is lacing up more than cleats. The New York Giants wide receiver has penned a historic deal with sports apparel giant Nike.

According to reports, OBJ/Nike have come to terms on a multi-year worth nearly $30 million and ultimately ended a potential Adidas bidding war.

That 10-day match window ended today — with Nike exercising its right to match. The deal is believed to be worth more than $29 Million over the 5-year length, with additional incentives that could add another million to each year of the deal. (Nice Kicks)

Reports claim Odell’s shoe deal is the biggest in NFL history.

It is the most lucrative shoe deal ever for an NFL player, according to nicekicks.com. The website also noted Beckham’s desire to become a “brand icon.’’ There is a clause that can escalate the contract to make it an eight-year deal worth $48 million. Nike reportedly fully matched a counter-offer from Adidas. Beckham signed a four-year, $10 million rookie contract with the Giants, who picked up his fifth-year option to make his 2018 salary $8.45 million. (NY Post)

A couple months ago, Odell linked up with Young Money’s Nicki Minaj.
