Drizzy said fans can believe the hype as he and longtime producer Noah “40” Shebib will helm the mysterious LP.

“People should be really excited. People thought it was my single; it’s not my single. It’s all off of an Aaliyah project that me and 40 are commanding and 40’s just doing some incredible, some incredible music right now,” Drake revealed in an interview. “To get 13, 14 new Aaliyah songs, everybody should be excited. It’s not about me. It’s not about 40. It’s about her and her fans and us just getting the opportunity to give you something that we feel is great. And the people around her, everybody from her family to her old management and label, were like, ‘If there’s anyone out that can do it right now, it’s [you] and 40.’ And that was an honor and we’re going to pull in some classic people, anybody who used to work with Aaliyah that was essential in her career we definitely hope to have them involved. So it’s great. You get a new Aaliyah album this year on top of everything.” (Much Music)

This week, the late R&B crooner’s brother denied any family members being behind the project.

Aaliyah’s family have denied any involvement in her new posthumous album, which is being spearheaded by Drake . “There is no official album being released and supported by the Haughton family,” announced the late singer’s brother, Rashad Haughton. (The Guardian)

A few days ago, gossip and details associated to the LP surfaced online.

According to our source, “Enough Said” was released by Aaliyah’s own label, Blackground Records, which is run by her uncle Barry Hankerson. The song wasn’t leaked by Drake. As for how involved Drake is, I’m hearing he’s only on one song right now. But that Noah “40” Shebib is producing a majority of the tracks. I’m actually looking forward to what 40 does with these unreleased vocals. His sound seems like a good match. But for all the fans who cant imagine a Aaliyah project without the input of Timbaland and Missy Elliott…great news! I’m hearing that Tim is getting involved. So far I’m hearing he’s producing 2 songs. Hopefully there will be more and Missy will be in there too! Timbaland recent told me that he and Missy are already done recording their joint album. Last weekend, Drizzy and the late singer’s “Enough Said” premiered online.

Drake released his first track with the late Aaliyah , ‘Enough Said.’ How does it fare? Probably better than most people expected. “Can’t you talk to me? / Tell me what you need,” Aaliyah pleads over a soft, somewhat minimalist beat. Yes, Drizzy can. The Toronto-bred MC, who has a tattoo of the fallen starlet on his back, spits an entire verse on why his life is tough, asking, “Is this even a discussion?” he rants. “Don’t you ever wake up disgusted? / Every million I get an enemy or a cousin.” Aw, Drake! Your life is so hard! The track sounds like traditional Aaliyah, with the stunner’s signature smooth, soft vocals. Early in the tune, Drake asks, “What’s up?” over and over like a hype man who doesn’t know how to listen, while Aaliyah harmonizes with herself, dropping her signature coos over “Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah.” The song doesn’t sound like it’d be out of place next to her hits like ‘Are You That Somebody’ or ‘Rock the Boat,’ though it’s most reminiscent of ‘We Need a Resolution.’ (Pop Crush)
