Young Money's Drake has acknowledged Kanye West showing him love during the Wireless Festival this weekend after he played a handful of his tunes. #DrizzyToYeezy
Drizzy posted an image of Yeezus at the annual event and promised to make a return to the United Kingdom when his health gets better.
“Man I appreciate Kanye playing Trophies at Wireless so much. I want to be at all the shows more than anything in the world right now. I just keep watching the video over and over. According to reports, Kanye’s second rant in two days rubbed fans the wrong way Saturday (July 5).
WIRELESS fans were left unimpressed last night after Kanye West – who was filling in for an unwell Drake – went on a 15-minute rant for the second night in a row. The superstar – who already headlined the event in Finsbury Park, North London, on Friday night – embarked on the speech during his 2010 hit Runaway, where he described himself as “shy” and “arrogant.” After having already received bad press for taking up a large portion of his set with the deep and meaningful monologue the night before, fans seemed unamused and proceeded to demand: “We want Drake.” (Express)
Things turned even uglier as fans decided to leave the event and chant for Drake.
Many angry fans started to shout “off, off, off” while others left the main stage altogether to catch their trains home. Taking to Twitter after the bizarre performance, one disappointed festival goer wrote: “‘#kanyewest has now been giving a sermon/speech for twenty minutes solid. Those poor Drake fans, this is NOT what they paid for. #wireless” While another added: “#kanyewest absolutely ruined my #wireless experience!!! Left early… You’re a t*** #wewantdrake.” (Express)
Earlier in the week, Drake issued an open statement about having to fall back on the three-day festival.
“To my beloved fans, it truly breaks my heart that I won’t be able to perform as planned at Wireless and Roskilde this weekend. I got sick a few days ago and although I am on my way to bouncing back, my doctors have made it clear that I am not physically fit to fly or deliver the performance my fans expect and deserve from me. I will be focused on resting for a quick recovery. I have the best fans in the world and I can’t wait to come back to make more incredible memories together.” (Statement)
