Drizzy Drake used last night’s concert stage to officially debut their collaboration.

Drake headlined his third annual OVO Festival in his hometown of Toronto on Sunday night (August 5) with guests like Nicki Minaj, 2 Chainz, A$AP Rocky, Snoop Dogg as his reggae alter-ego Snoop Lion, French Montana, Meek Mill and singer The Weeknd all sharing the stage with him. And as promised, Drake unleashed his featured guest appearance on Aaliyah’s posthumous single, “Enough Said,” debuting it as part of his huge concert last night. It has previously been reported that Drizzy would be executive-producing the late and loved singer’s posthumous album and “Enough Said” seems to be the first listen off the project. (XXL Mag)

Prior to the performance, the track premiered online Sunday afternoon.

Drake released his first track with the late Aaliyah , ‘Enough Said.’ How does it fare? Probably better than most people expected. “Can’t you talk to me? / Tell me what you need,” Aaliyah pleads over a soft, somewhat minimalist beat. Yes, Drizzy can. The Toronto-bred MC, who has a tattoo of the fallen starlet on his back, spits an entire verse on why his life is tough, asking, “Is this even a discussion?” he rants. “Don’t you ever wake up disgusted? / Every million I get an enemy or a cousin.” Aw, Drake! Your life is so hard! The track sounds like traditional Aaliyah, with the stunner’s signature smooth, soft vocals. Early in the tune, Drake asks, “What’s up?” over and over like a hype man who doesn’t know how to listen, while Aaliyah harmonizes with herself, dropping her signature coos over “Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah.” The song doesn’t sound like it’d be out of place next to her hits like ‘Are You That Somebody’ or ‘Rock the Boat,’ though it’s most reminiscent of ‘We Need a Resolution.’ (Pop Crush)

A few days ago, longtime Aaliyah friend/producer Timbaland weighed in on reports of Drizzy’s involvement in a posthumous album.

Timbaland doesn’t want Drake to do an Aaliyah album–unless he and Missy Elliott are involved. The super producer spoke with Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club about the rumor that Drizzy is in talks to executive produce the album , and was pretty clear about all of the components that need to line up first. “I know they trying to drop some Aaliyah records, but if he do it, it should be with me and him, and Missy.” Even though the YMCMB rapper allegedly contacted Aaliyah’s estate over plans to make the project, Timbaland revealed that the 25-year-old has yet to reach out to him. “I don’t know what’s going on. The proper way to do that would be for me him and Missy to be all on the record.” (HHW)

In a recent interview, Drake hinted at having some big Aaliyah-related news.

Drake touched on having “special things” related to Aaliyah coming up when speaking to Tim Westwood. “I have some great Aaliyah news coming soon,” Drake told Westwood. “Just some special things. Just gave you that, just a little. Because I said, I’m with Westwood, so I can’t not… But great things, great things for music, period.” (The Juice)
