A day after an unofficial version of Drake's "Trophies" anthem made its way across the Internet, the Young Money stud has formally rolled out the unreleased Nothing Was The Same track.

Along with the new track, Drizzy made “Trophies” official by attaching artwork to its release.

Drake releases “Trophies,” a record that didn’t make his third studio album Nothing Was The Same. The record is produced by Hit-Boy with additional production from Hagler and 40. Prior to Nothing Was The Same coming out Drake teased “Trophies” in a video trailer that included the opening melody and a number of luxury cars cruising through town at night. The Toronto MC would later preview some of the song during Would You Like a Tour? in October. (Complex)

Drizzy’s delayed and unreleased Nothing Was The Same track surfaced online Sunday (December 29).

I had quite possibly the best day I’ve had in a while, and while I was randomly perusing clearing my inbox this lands in it. Shortly after releasing his take on Soulja Boy’s (surprisingly dope) “We Made It,” the (obviously rough and unfinished version but) highly-anticipated and much-talked-about collaboration between Hit-Boy and Drizzy has finally arrived just in time for your New Year’s celebration. The Toronto native unleashed his unexpected “We Made It” remix a few days ago.

From the release of his third album to his five Grammy nominations, Drake caps off another successful year with his remix to Soulja Boy’s “We Made It” off the latter’s mixtape The King. The Toronto MC reflects on his rise from the bottom to the top before Soulja stunts on his haters. “New Years Eve Anthems on deck,” tweeted Drizzy, who will host “SNL” on January 18. Next up, he plans to release the Hit-Boy-produced “Trophies,” which he previewed at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center in October. (Rap-Up)

While Drizzy kept tight-lipped on the details, he did recently confirm unreleased tracks like “Trophies” and a “Wu-Tang Forever” remix could release before the ball drops.

OVO stans remember the four-song warmup Drake released on his blog back in June, which included his “Jodeci Freestyle” collaboration with J. Cole, and guest features on PARTYNEXTDOOR’s “Over Here” and Migos‘ “Versace.” Drake says his new material will be rolled out in a similar fashion. “Not an EP, but maybe a blog thing like how I did ‘Versace,’ ‘The Motion,’ all those in one night,” Drake says of his unreleased songs. “I’ll probably do ‘Trophies’ and three or four other records.” Aside from the Hit-Boy produced track that Drake has previewed during his Would You Like A Tour? dates, he intends to include the remix to “Wu-Tang Forever,” which was first reported on VIBE.com back in September. “[‘Wu-Tang Forever (Remix)’] will probably come out with all that stuff–I hope,” Drake adds. “It’s on 40. He has all the verses.” (VIBE)
