OVO Sound boss Drake is a savage when it comes to showing Rihanna love. The 6 God went to social media this week with quite possibly his most subtle salute to the Barbados hottie.
This week, Drizzy flexed his socks game by wearing a pair with RiRi on them.
The 30-year-old rapper posted on Instagram this week a photo of him sitting on a couch and looking pensive while wearing a pair of socks from ex-girlfriend Rihanna’s latest Fenty x Stance collection, which was released last week. They feature an illustration of the 29-year-old R&B singer sporting the red, green, yellow and black stripes mesh Tommy Hilfiger maxi dress she wears in the pair’s 2016 “Work” music video. “Trabajo,” Drake wrote, using the Spanish word for “work.” (E! Back in April, Drake and Rihanna just happened to show up at the same children’s birthday party.
In February, Drake showed RiRi some birthday love at a live concert.
“It’s somebody’s birthday today – someone I have a lot of love for, a lot of respect for. So instead of singing happy birthday to her, we just gonna do this – we gonna set it off just like this. Run it!”
Last year, Drake and Rihanna’s solo album releases dominated digital giant iTunes.
Drake’s album “Views” was the best-seller in iTunes, while his hit “One Dance” was the most popular single. Drake debuted his album on Apple Music’s Beats 1 Radio in the spring. Rihanna, who collaborated with Drake on her smash “Work,” held the No. 2 spot on the top album’s list with “Anti,” while Adele’s “25,” Frank Ocean’s “Blonde,” which also debuted on Apple, and Justin Bieber’s “Purpose” rounded out the top five.
