“Drake Is A Very Emotional Rapper, Bordering R&B Melodrama & Was A Child Actor”

Young Money's Drake has become the center of attention for Twitter taunting, prompting a few analysts to find out why the rapper/singer gets poked fun of so often.

Youth marketer and Young Money affilaite Jason Stein has provided his take on Drizzy’s image getting taunted.

“Drake is a very emotional rapper, bordering R&B melodrama, and was a child actor,” Stein posits. “When you couple that with being on the Young Money label, which is considered a pretty tough group, and his swagger or braggadocio, there’s are unusual juxtaposition that people start to question, and then poke fun at.” (E! Social media strategist Stephanie Weingart also feels Drake’s public mishaps have made him a victim to taunting.

“Drake…lets the audience know that Twitter is a channel that he personally reads, not his assistant,” social media strategist Stephanie Weingart tells me. “People think they can reach him on Twitter so they go after him.” And, lastly, there’s a video that just keeps feeding the fire. “It didn’t help that Drake fell down while performing and hurt his knee; that video is Twitter roast gold. Also, Drake has good skin. Not sure why, but people like to make fun of how smooth his face is and how much work he must put into taking great care of it.” (Indeed: Drake’s Knee has a Twitter account.) (E! Online)

As of late, a Twitter hash tag titled “#DrakeCriesWhen” has begun circulating online.

Has Drake got the Midas touch? You’d sure think so by looking at his Take Care cover art, which features the “Club Paradise” rapper looking surprisingly dour for someone surrounded by such gaudy, expensive-looking home decor. Apparently, #DrakeCriesWhen he’s really, really rich? (Or at least stares wistfully into a golden goblet.) (Idolator)

Over the summer, Drake opened up about embracing emo music.

“I only really know how to do one thing. I don’t know how to make generic songs about the struggle and things that aren’t about me, I just know how to make songs that are about me,” Drake told FADER writer Judnick Mayard. “If I make a song that’s emo or emotional, then I guess yeah, I’m going to stick to that. I make songs about my life, because if you want me to be honest with you, that’s the best way I know how. The things I’ve experienced and the things I’ve lived.
