Drizzy Drake posted up tons of photos from the Friday night activities onto Instagram.

Rapper, basketball fan, and meme Drake was all smiles last night when he showed up to his beloved Kentucky’s Midnight Madness celebrations, to introduce coach John Calipari and warm up with the team. Aubrey donned the appropriate gear – lint-rolled, of course – to call Calipari the “George Clooney of the hardwood” before dropping the mic and shooting some hoops with the team. (The FADER)

Last year, Drake lended his voice to narrate a Kentucky Wildcats broadcast called Bluegrass Kingdom: The Gospel of Kentucky Basketball.

Once again, Drake will be showing his love for the Kentucky Wildcats. On March 17 at 8 p.m. EST., TruTV will air Bluegrass Kingdom: The Gospel of Kentucky Basketball, which will tell the story of the College’s historic basketball program. Drizzy will be featured as the documentary’s narrator. We’ll hear from former players, alumni and coaches. Last year, Drake played coach for day during the Wildcats 2012 season, and credits Coach Calipari for inspiring to get his high school diploma. (Miss Info TV)

In 2012, Drake appeared at a Kentucky Wildcats charity event.

On a day in which UK basketball fans had a chance to see some of their favorite former Wildcats play at Rupp Arena again, the most memorable moment likely came at halftime. That was when UK head coach John Calipari, the former Wildcats playing and coaching in the alumni game and recording artist Drake presented $325,000 to six charities. The largest check, for $110,000, went to recovery efforts for West Liberty, Ky., which was devastated by tornados last Spring. A check for $60,000 was presented to the service dog charity 4 Paws For Ability. (KY Forward)

He also received his very own Wildcats championship ring following their 2012 championship win.

The University of Kentucky basketball program apparently bestowed rapping legend Drake with a national championship ring. This may or may not be related to the artist performing after the “Big Blue Madness” ceremony held in 2009 when John Calipari was named head coach of the team. There’s probably little point in asking why, but it doesn’t take a genius to conclude that this has to be one of the dumbest gestures in recent memory. Drake? Really? Perhaps, perhaps, Tupac or Biggie if they were still with us, neither of which appeared on “Degrassi: The Next Generation” as a child. (The Big Lead)
