Young Money rapper Drake’s love for the Kentucky Wildcats may come with a steep price as reports claim he sparked an NCAA rules violation for one of the team’s players.

According to reports, Kentucky had to self-report a rules violation in October after Wildcats player Tyler Ulis hooked up with Drizzy for a photo last May.

The Herald-Leader reported this type of violation is defined as “isolated or limited in nature,” and any competitive or recruiting advantage is “minimal.” Ulis’ name was redacted in an open-records report obtained by the newspaper, though it said Kentucky declared the “player” ineligible but reinstated him Oct. 14. It became obvious the player was Ulis once the sophomore uploaded the photo to his Instagram account. (Bleacher Report)

Drizzy also received some NCAA backlash after posing for pics with Kentucky recruits.

Here goes: Kentucky issued Drake a cease-and-desist letter after his appearance at the school’s Big Blue Madness event because he took photos with some recruits. Kentucky’s compliance office self-reported the impermissible communication between Drake and three potential student-athletes (PSAs) on April 27, according to a letter obtained by Sporting News as part of an open records request. Back in April, Drake poured his love out to the Kentucky Wildcats after they suffered a tough Final Four tournament loss.

Drizzy posted up tons of photos from a Kentucky Wildcats outing in 2014.

Rapper, basketball fan, and meme Drake was all smiles last night when he showed up to his beloved Kentucky’s Midnight Madness celebrations, to introduce coach John Calipari and warm up with the team. Aubrey donned the appropriate gear – lint-rolled, of course – to call Calipari the “George Clooney of the hardwood” before dropping the mic and shooting some hoops with the team. (The FADER)
