OVO Sound boss Drake really keeps in touch with the culture. The hip-hop star reportedly made a serious request to have JAY-Z‘s new 4:44 album play during a recent Maryland dinner.
According to reports, the request went down Thursday (June 29) night at Baltimore’s Azumi Japanense hot spot.
The Toronto rapper and five of his friends went to Azumi in Harbor East around 11:55 p.m., requesting to sit outside on the patio, according to Joe Sweeney, spokesman for Atlas Restaurant Group, which owns the Japanese restaurant. Drake, in particular, requested the Lychee Martini, the Maryland Signature Roll, and the A-5 Wagyu Ribeye, before asking that Jay-Z’s album — which dropped at midnight on Tidal, just moments after he arrived — be played over the patio speakers, Sweeney wrote.
