OVO Sound boss Drake has saluted NBA superstar Vince Carter with serious accolades. The hip-hop stud recently credited Vinsanity for motivating him.
Over the weekend, Drizzy appeared at the Toronto International Film Festival to speak on Carter’s The Carter Effect documentary and Vince’s influence during his Raptors years.
As Drake said onstage after the premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on Saturday (Sept. 9), “It just let me know that it was possible. It was confidence. It was the realization that it was attainable. This guy could come over here and lift us up. Imagine if it was one of us that could make it out there.” (Billboard)
Outside of basketball, Drake hyped up social media this past weekend with an in-studio pic.
At last month’s OVO Fest, Drake promised to bless fans with a joint The Weeknd album.
“I want you to understand what this is. First of all, I don’t want to do this to you on stage, but I feel like that OVOXO project has to happen at some point. I just want to say that.”

At the same event, the 6 God also updated fans on the status of putting out another LP.
The ‘One Dance’ rapper headlined his OVO music festival in his hometown of Toronto, Canada on Monday night (07.08.17) where he told the audience he’s set to return to the studio to prepare his follow-up to the hugely successful ‘Views’. Speaking on stage, with the backdrop of 2016 LP behind him, Drake told the crowd: ”Im going to go back to making this new album in Toronto, just for you.” (Contact Music)
