Young Money’s Drake has stepped forward to clear up rumors and speculation about him performing at next week’s Grammy Awards ceremony.
Drizzy shut down the performance buzz on Twitter last night (February 7).
The performance speculation and buzz developed courtesy of a Super Bowl 50 commercial Sunday (February 7) evening.
Though the Internet is entirely, justifiably ablaze about tonight’s electrifying Super Bowl Halftime Show — hey Beyoncé and Bruno Mars, we see you — Drake found time to deliver a smooth rebuke to the Grammy Awards after a CBS promo during the football game suggested that the Canadian rapper would perform at this year’s ceremony. OVO Sound producer Noah “40” Shebib briefly touched on Drake’s upcoming Views From The 6 album last week.
“We’re getting very, very close and the time will come, I think, when Drake’s ready to pull that trigger,” 40 said in an interview with Cypress Hill head B-Real. (Rodeo Smoke Shop)
Although he did not name an exact date, Drizzy announced an April release for his album last month on his Apple OVO Sound Radio show.
“We’re here working overtime on it tryna make it everything I know it should be and the album itself will be coming in April 2016, so 416, you know what’s where I’m from,” he said in reference to the Toronto area code. “I’ll give you a date later on. For now, just know we’re working, we’re ready for anything.” (Rap-Up)
