Rappers Drake, Busta Rhymes, Swizz Beatz and Wyclef Jean have each named their favorite albums that debuted this year.
For Drizzy, Busta and Swizzy, Rick Ross‘ Teflon Don won their ears.
“Favorite album of this year,” Drake said in an interview, “[I’d say] Rick Ross. Rick Ross had the best album of this year, yeah. Phenomenal album.”
“My favorite album of the year thus far,” Busta said in an interview, “I would have to say it’s Rick Ross’ Teflon Don album. It’s do and through out. It’s a beautiful body of art.”
“I’m gonna keep it hip-hop, Swizz said, “I’m gonna say Rick Ross.” (Billboard)
Wyclef Jean chose Kanye West‘s new comeback album as his personal favorite.
“My favorite album of 2010,” Clef said. “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Kanye West. I feel like that album represents completion as a whole.” (Billboard)
Over the summer, Ross’ Teflon Don debuted on the sales chart at No. 2.
Grammy-winning rapper Eminem‘s Recovery has continued its reign atop the charts at No. 1 with 187,200 sold copies. According to Nielson SoundScan, the rapper’s latest solo effort has sold 1,669,600 units after five weeks on the charts. Def Jam juggernaut Rick Ross’ Teflon Don opened up this week at No. 2.
