Young Money’s Drake made sure to remind fans of his now-epic “Back To Back” battle rap with rival Meek Mill on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” this weekend.

Drizzy played off the hard-hitting instrumental and parodied it with various “beefs” involving “SNL” cast members.

Drake opened up Saturday (May 14)’s broadcast with a quirky monologue which included him singing about his meme popularity.

“Backstage, my friend showed me this meme he found online, and it really shook me,” the Canadian hip-hop star explains. “It was me, dancing in my ‘Hotline Bling’ video. Some joker had put a caption on it that said ‘When U farted and got away with it.” “If I’m being real, it hurts,” he says. “It’s almost like, all I can do is sing about it.” Featuring lyrics like “I just want to scream/because I’m more than a meme,” Drake’s song also offered glimpses at a half-dozen memes. One shows him in a wheelchair and reads: “Started in a wheelchair, now we here.” Another has a picture of him asking “Are you gonna finish those fries?” (Zap 2 It)

Drake made sure to remind fans of his chart-topping Views album by performing songs like “One Dance” and “Hype” during the must-see broadcast.

Who says the recorded versions of songs are always better than the live ones? This track from Drake’s new album is totally intense, and with the help of the Saturday Night Live stage, things were taken to the next level on May 14. Drake was way more serious during this performance, not really doing his dance-move thing like he did when he sang “One Dance” at the beginning of the show. (Hollywood Life)

No stranger to the “SNL” stage, Drake has a track record going back five years.

The performance marked Drake’s third appearance as musical guest on Saturday Night Live. His first was in 2011 on an episode hosted by Anna Farris. (Just Jared)
