OVO Sound boss Drake has fans wondering if his days with Cash Money are long gone. The hip-hop veteran has appeared to announce his run with the mighty label coming to an end.

On his new “Is There More” song, Drake makes a reference to a deal ending.

“Whenever it’s time to recoup/Yeah, soon as this album drop I’m out of the deal/In the house playin’ D’Angelo, “How Does It Feel?”/I got a fear of havin’ things on my mind when I die” (“Is There More”)

According to reports, Drake’s new Scorpion album could mark the end of a Cash Money contractual obligation.

Drake’s album deal with Cash Money Records, Birdman’s Record Label Company, reportedly stipulated a 6 album deal, with a hefty 2 million dollar advance, when signed first in 2009. After the drop of “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late”, it seemed that the deal had been extended further. Scorpion has purposefully been made a 2 disc album to account as 2 albums, which would finish his 9th and 10th albums under Cash Money and make him a free agent by ending his album stipulation. Drake’s newest solo offering has already sparked ample co-signs from Young Money’s Nicki Minaj and 2 Chainz.

This week, Three 6 Mafia’s DJ Paul talked about low-key putting together Drake and JAY-Z‘s new “Talk Up” song.

“[JAY[ was added on later. … I haven’t even heard it, actually. I’ve heard pieces of it. I’m even excited about what’s about to go down. Drake is secret with it because he can’t release nothing like that. I’ve heard pieces, I haven’t even heard the final final [version]. … Two of the biggest artists in the world on one of my tracks, man. I couldn’t believe it. It was amazing and Drake hooked it up. I saw a post that 21 Savage did where he was talking about how Drake is the only big rapper that always shows love to other rappers. That’s the truth. He really does show love.” (VIBE)

Last night, the Toronto native treated fans to the project’s full tracklisting.
