West Coast rapper Hopsin has reportedly pulled a fast one on the music industry and fans alike with a rap retirement prank.
According to a new viral clip, Hopsin simply fooled supporters about throwing in the towel as a musician.
“My name is Marcus Hopson and I’m a former Hip Hop artist. I’m about to explain the real truth behind me leaving the music industry. What you’re about to hear is probably gonna blow your mind, so brace yourself.” Following Hopsin’s introduction, both the rapper and fellow artist Jarren Benton appear in a scene inspired by the film Dumb And Dumber To. Hop then reveals that he’s not quitting rap and later informs fans to “Get ready for that Pound Syndrome,” which is scheduled to be released next year. (HHDX)

Hopsin broke the big news and alerted supporters of his decision to leave the country on Instagram earlier this month.
According to reports, Hopsin had previously revealed his issues with the music industry on social media.
The Funk Volume artist has voiced his frustration with the music industry in the past, including a twitter rant where he professed “Don’t become a rapper, you will become a zombie if you do.” He also had fans panic into an intense state of worry when he tweeted about thoughts of suicide. (XXL Mag)
Last year, Hopsin poked fun at rap star Lil Wayne‘s skateboarding skills.
“My favorite one, my favorite skater rapper of all time right now who’s like, really killing it, is my n*gga Lil Wayne, you know what I’m saying? He be shredding. Psych! Nah. He’s f*cking wack. Yelawolf. Yelawolf is a skater rapper. He’s super dope. That’s probably the only one that I’ll co-sign.” (“Nardwuar”)
