“Chappelle’s Show” alumni Donnell Rawlings is done-done with Jussie Smollett. The comedian has come forward with some serious trolling and frustrations over the “Empire” star possibly staging his recent Chicago attack.
Rawlings lit up his Instagram feed Saturday (February 16) to slam Smollett amid reports claiming he played a key role in the alleged hoax.

#2soonwithdonnellrawlings This is a perfect example of how people can be so caught up into fame that they play with the emotions of people that care about them. The fact that he had people ready to go to war for him thinking he was a victim of a hate crime when he knew it was a lie, is just as disgusting as the fake incident he created in his mind. For all the people that were ready to Ride or Die, what are your thoughts, not being funny asking for a friend.
Smollett has already lawyered up amid growing drama surrounding his Chi-Town attack.
Jussie Smollett has hired Michael Cohen’s criminal defense lawyer, the attorney confirmed this week, amid the deepening mystery of the “Empire” actor’s claim that he was the victim of a hate attack. “Yes, at the moment, I am,” Michael Monico, a former federal prosecutor in Illinois’ Northern District, told WGN’s “The Roe Conn Show” on Thursday. Despite the speculation, police are not caving into reports suggesting Smollett might have staged the attack.
“Interrogations will resume today with the two individuals and their attorney,” department spokesman Anthony Guglielimi said in a statement to The Times on Friday. Guglielmi again denied reports alleging that the attack was a hoax and reiterated that Smollett is being treated as a victim. “While we haven’t found any video documenting the alleged attack, there is no evidence to say that this is a hoax,” Guglielmi said. “The alleged victim is being cooperative at this time and continues to be treated as a victim, not a suspect.” (Los Angeles Times)
This week, reports emerged about Chi-Town police raiding the home of two persons of interest connected to Smollett’s attack.
Both men are Nigerian and were extras on “Empire.” Based on what the cops have already said, it appears these are the same men who were captured on the surveillance video. According to the report, police seized 5 bottles of bleach, a red hat, 2 laptops and other items. (TMZ)
