West Coast rapper Doja Cat is going to get really familiar with her Netflix goals over the next 14 days. The hip-hop star has come forward to announce she is dealing with a COVID-19 infection.

Doja Cat Has Coronavirus

Heading into the weekend, Doja broke the massive news to fans during an interview. While she couldn’t exactly pinpoint what might have caused her brush with coronavirus, Cat said it could have happened from a food delivery.

“I got COVID,” she said during an appearance on Capital XTRA yesterday (July 24). “Honestly, I don’t know how this happens but I guess I ordered something off of Postmates and I don’t know how I got it but I got it.” The musician, whose real name is Amala Zandile Dlamini, said she was “OK now”, but didn’t confirm when she thought she had the virus. “It was a four-day symptom freak out but I’m fine now,” she added. High-Key Details

Back in March 2020, Doja made headlines after clowning the global pandemic. DC even joked about what she would do if the virus infected her.

Doja Cat’s announcement comes after she spoke out on Instagram Live about the pandemic in March, claiming that she wasn’t “scared” of COVID-19 and that the virus was only a “flu.” “I’m gonna get corona and then I’m gonna get a Corona, cause I don’t give a f—k about corona, bitch. It’s a flu!” she said at the time. (People)

Wait, There’s More

This past Tuesday, Cat went to her Twitter page to speak out. Doja questioned why she recently had support from people viewing her as a Black musician and then suddenly having her African America roots taken away.

“Remember when people said I was black when I had a #1 along side 3 other black women but now the same people wanna say I’m white? Maybe I’m not the one here with “identity issues”. 🙂 … Deleted my last tweet because someone brought up a very valid point about it. My response was that I’m standing up for myself because I know what the truth is.” -Doja Cat’s Twitter
