According to Bobby Ray, he learned of Doe’s passing through photo-sharing social media giant Instagram.

“I woke up in the middle of the night. I don’t know why I woke up. I usually don’t just [wake up], every now and then, but I started going through my Instagram and I saw the picture that chicks were posting. I was about to just keep scrolling, I thought it was promoting something Doe B was doing. Then I saw the caption and the picture and it just stopped me in my tracks. I called a lot of people on my side to confirm what had happen and it was just unreal, I couldn’t believe it. I couldn’t even go back to sleep.” (XXL Mag)

B.o.B. went on to discuss how big of a future Doe B had ahead of him.

“The thing that I remember the most is that everything he built was deliberate and his work ethic in the studio. He wasn’t “feeling himself.” He was a real humble dude, he worked real hard. … [His future?] A superstar, like it was no doubt in my mind. That’s kind of the reason it was so shocking. It was definite that he was going to be a superstar. Every time I saw him, him and his manager, I always say that.” (XXL Mag)

Hustle Gang leader T.I. spoke out on his Hustle Gang member’s death last weekend.

“RIP to my lil brother Doe B. We gon miss u my nigga. U’ll never be forgotten & U WILL NOT DIE IN VAIN. We Love U champ. Always. Just rest now my nigga….WE GOT IT From here.,” Tip wrote December 28. (T.I.’s Instagram)

Fellow hip-hop stars like Young Money’s Drake acknowledged Doe’s passing a few days ago.

“RIP Doe B,” tweeted Drake, while MGK added, “Damn. RIP Doe B. this rap shits crazy right now. Condolences to his family. Clubs keep lettin guns in the club as if that’s not where we as artists work. We got families to go home to, f*ck is wrong with y’all.” (Rap-Up)
