Former Ruff Ryders leader DMX has stepped forward to speak out on the attention he has sparked since showing interest in taking on George Zimmerman on a celebrity boxing challenge.

According to Dark Man X, he is confident in being able to defeat the ex-neighborhood watch worker and promised to donate any earnings to charity.

“I was challenged,” X said in an interview. “I still haven’t really decided if I was going to do it but if I did do it, whatever money was supposed to go to him would have to go to charity. … I will glady beat the sh*t out of him. … When you fight with your heart, you’re always going to win.” (Fox Carolina News)

In light of the proposed fight, there is an active petition trying to prevent the event from going down.

Celebrity Boxing Promoter Damon Feldman & George Zimmerman are attempting to promote and profit off of racial tensions in America. Damon Feldman has been known for fixing fights and taking short cuts in the past in bypassing state requirements for fighters to obtain a license to box. Mr Feldmans past should be highly considered in this regard if Feldman is not going through the proper channels to ensure the safety of the participants it puts lives at risk. In addition the entire idea of this event is to use racial tensions to lure people in to purchase the event. This will only hurt America as it will continue to stir up racial tensions that have been on going in this nation for quite some time. No Promoter or Celebrity Boxer should ever be allowed to use racial tension to profit. (We The People)

Celebrity boxing promoter Damon Feldman recently said Zimmerman turned down over 15,000 fight requests and set his eyes on Dark Man X.

Let’s get ready to … mumble. As in, what now, George Zimmerman? Seems like the former neighborhood watchman has found yet another way to remain in the public limelight. This time, he’ll be stepping into a boxing ring to fight rapper DMX. Early Wednesday morning, Feldman said he’s picked the contender. Out of more than 15,000 e-mailed requests, he’s going with DMX. “The match will be one of the Biggest Celebrity Boxing matches of all time,” his news release said (uppercase emphasis his). But in order to find out where and when it will take place, we’ll have to wait until next week. (CNN)

A few days ago, X revealed an interest in fighting Zimmerman.

The 43-year old rapper tells TMZ … he’s throwing his name out as a potential opponent for George’s upcoming celebrity boxing gig — just like The Game? — and says he wants to do it for “every black person who has been done wrong in the system.” DMX adds, “I am going to beat the living f**k out him … I am breaking every rule in boxing to make sure I f**k him right up.” DMX says, “Once I am done with him, I am going to whip my d**k out and piss on him … right in his muthaf**kin face.” He adds, “Zimmerman is a piece of s**t and that’s what he needs to drink.” (TMZ)
