Ruff Ryders leader DMX appeared before a judge Saturday (June 27) following a publicized arrest hours prior in New York City on a child support-related charge.

X and his attorney addressed the headline-generating legal matter.

As the 44-year-old rapper and actor was brought before Judge Eileen Rackower in Manhattan Criminal Court he turned and said “Sup,” to a star-struck fellow suspect who recognized and called out to him. A lawyer for the financially strapped rapper argued that he couldn’t pay the “extreme” $25,000 bail set by Rackower. While DMX has some assets, he couldn’t turn them around fast enough, the attorney said. (NY Daily News)

According to reports, the bust went down prior to a Radio City Music Hall concert..

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ, the rapper was en route to Radio City Music Hall where he was scheduled to perform when the New York City Sheriff’s deputies nabbed him for unpaid child support. The law we know, he was being held in the back of a patrol car. As for the concert, Masters of Ceremony, the show went on without him. It had plenty of other old school rappers to entertain the crowd. (TMZ)

Additional reports claimed X had an arrest warrant out for him over bail jumping.

Another arrest warrant was issued by the city of White Plains for bail jumping; the city of Yonkers is accusing the rapper of being an aggravated unlicensed motor vehicle operator; and a criminal complaint out of Newark, N.J., names DMX as a suspect in an April 5 robbery at a gas station in that city, the sheriff’s office said. Back in April, X discussed making headlines for allegedly robbing a 21-year-old man in New Jersey.

“I have no idea what it’s about. It comes with the territory,” X explained. “It’s not the first thing I’ve been accused of that I didn’t do. If I did it, you’d have known about it, but I wouldn’t be able to travel as freely as I do, if I did it. My lawyer assured me there’s nothing to worry about. … We stopped at a gas station. I don’t recall any incident happening. I make way more than that during a show, so why would I want that kind of trouble for myself?” (TMZ)
