Webstar also weighed in on what it means for a successful entertainer to keep in tune with their community.

“Yeah, yeah, he actually reached out to me and asked me to come through and perform for the kids and stuff like that,” Webstar revealed. “So I’m actually gonna be there, I’m gonna perform along with Kid Cudi — more people are gonna be there. It should be a good event. And I think that’s important that he’s doing stuff for his community because a lot of artists get too big and don’t do sh*t for they community.” (SOHH)

In a recent video trailer for the event, Fif jokingly revealed a few rumored rappers who will support the G-Unit leader’s Governor’s Island, New York City show.

“Hey, what’s up, it’s your boy 50 Cent right here,” he said in a video. “It’s going down October 3rd, Governor’s Island. It’s gonna be mad people there. It’s gonna be — they didn’t let me do Summer Jam so I’m doing my own Summer Jam. You know what I’m saying? I don’t wanna say Maino‘s gonna be there, I don’t wanna Uncle Murda is gonna be there, I don’t wanna say Cory Gunz, I don’t wanna say Ron Browz, none of that. I don’t wanna say Dipset, I don’t wanna say D-Block, I don’t wanna say none of that. I just wanna keep it real low-key like and just let you know you need to be on Governor’s Island October 3rd.” (This Is 50)

According to additional reports, Fif will also be bringing along a few out-of-state emcees.

Fif, G-Unit, Kid Cudi, Wale and Mike Posner have all been confirmed for the October 3 bill at Governor’s Island. Now close sources for the event have revealed that Jim Jones, D-Block, Maino, Uncle Murda, Papoose, Cory Gunz, Ron Browz, and Trav are all also slated for the show. Dubbed the ThisIs50 Fest, organizers for the show are calling it the new Summer Jam. Tickets are currently on sale on ticketmaster.com for $45. (XXLMag)

50’s camp celebrated their delayed Family Day event for Queens, New York residents last weekend.

Over 2,500 people came to the yard by P.S. 40, according to security officials for the 50 Cent/ G-Unit-sponsored event. No heavy prior promotion was made. A few flyers were passed out on Friday, but most of the traffic for the event was due to word of mouth. Even Lloyd Banks said he didn’t know about the function until about 3 a.m. on Saturday, when he received a text message from someone in their organization telling him to show up. Papoose and Cormega also came out to support the event, and unsigned Queens rapper Trav opened up the show. (MTV)
