Miami producer DJ Khaled could have a hefty lawsuit on his hand after being accused of jacking another artist's cover art to promote a new song.
According to reports, rapper Kolley has already sought legal action against Khaled.
Here’s the deal … Kolley dropped his debut mixtape, “RNS” about 6 weeks ago … with a pretty distinctive cover shot (left) — a closeup of his face, clenching a gold chain in his matching gold grill. Cut to this week … when DJ Khaled released “They Don’t Love You No More” with artwork that’s pretty much identical to Kolley’s We’re told Kolley’s peeps at Bigg Bank Entertainment just sent a cease and desist letter to Khaled’s label … warning them to stop using the cover art STAT or face a legal s**tstorm. Kolley has appeared to address the matter on his Twitter page.
“Imitation is the best form of flattery,” Kolley tweeted April 29. (Kolley’s Twitter)
A new trailer of Khaled cruising through rap star Jay Z‘s childhood neighborhood boasting about the mentioned track landed online this week.
“I am honored to work with Jay Z on my new album. I’ve worked so hard to get to this point. My fans expect me to be greater and keep being great, so I made it my business and I made it a mission to secure more wins.” (WSHH)
The mega producer also hinted at a new album dropping in the coming months.
“I just left Marcy projects , see for yourself the summer is mines! #theydontloveyounomore #wtb jus know!! http://bit.ly/1j9sTUu” (DJ Khaled’s Twitter)
