DJ Drama and rapper La The Darkman have publicly revealed their tensions toward one another by taking to Twitter to share some harsh words.
Taking action first, Drama publicly admitted to regretting having worked with Darkman in the past.
“I want to apologize to the hip hop community, fans & artists, for ever putting la the darkman on a gangsta grillz mixtape,” Drama tweeted February 23rd.
“RT @Y2Dre N*ggas really mad cuz dram deleted tweets getting @ LA the Darkman? I wouldn’t want to give that garbage a** any more promo either” (DJ Drama’s Twitter)
A day later, Darkman responded to Drama and compared their relationship to former associates Jay-Z and Beanie Sigel.
“I seen beanie segal say how Jayz wasn’t a good dude after he went broke! Lol,” Darkman tweeted yesterday (February 24).
“Mannnn I guess that’s what the drugs & going broke will do to some people! Lol” (La The Darkman’s Twitter)
Although some of the tweets have since been deleted, Darkman and Drama reportedly went back and forth with one another.
It’s currently unknown how the beef originated. Things went online with a series of tweets where LA seemed to claim that Drama was on drugs and attempted to ask him for help while one of his homes was being foreclosed upon. Drama then attacked back and stood by his harsh statement when fans began questioning what had occurred between the two personalities. LA semi-hilariously compared the fallout to similar fights between Cam’ron and Jim Jones or Ice Cube and Dr. Dre. (The Boom Box)
Darkman is widely known for his association with Wu-Tang and Drama.
La the Darkman is a Wu-Tang Clan affiliated American rapper. He is also a close associate of the Gangsta Grillz series of mixtapes (With DJ Drama) in which he takes on executive duties as well. He is also the older brother of rapper Willie the Kid. He is Co-CEO of The Aphilliates Music group. Between 2008 and 2009 La The Darkman released two mixtapes that he recorded with DJ Drama.
