Bad Boy Records CEO Diddy moved more than just students during his commencement speech last weekend as Howard University has come forward with a reaction to the heartfelt words. #DiddySpeech
According to reports, Diddy left a strong impression following the publicized moment.
A Howard University rep told us the school found the speech “impassioned” and “inspirational.” While some might have found the speech Diddy-centric, the Howard rep liked the endless “I” references, saying Diddy “shared his personal journey and encouraged students to be fearless, to dream, to fully embrace their inner power as well as endure to the finish line despite obstacles.” (TMZ)
During the speech, Puff reflected on how much of an impact his time at HU had on the future decisions he made.
“Ain’t no homecoming like a Howard homecoming,” Combs joyously announced during his speech at Howard University, where he received a standing ovation and “Diddy” chants from the Class of 2014. “And it feels so good to be home. … Howard University didn’t just change my life — it entered my soul, my heart, my being and my spirit,” said Combs, a former business major at Howard who left after two years in 1990. “Nobody is going to invite you to the front of the line, you got to push your way to the front of the line.” (Billboard)
Reports claimed Diddy also received some serious recognition at the ceremony.
The music mogul, who recently changed his name back to Puff Daddy, received a honorary degree in humanities from Howard University during a commencement ceremony on the morning of May 10. The speech was live-streamed on the website of Diddy’s music-oriented cable network Revolt. (Billboard)
