First focusing on Dep, Puff said the guilty verdict was nothing less than a shocker.

“I was like, ‘Wow’,” Diddy said in an interview. “None of that was in G. Dep’s nature. When there were certain things that he was going through with the substance abuse situation, he’d be a different person, but on an every day [basis], he was probably one of the nicest, most quietest, shyest, most humble cats that were out there. It was just so out of his character that it was mind-blowing.” (Hot 97)

Puff also narrowed in on his standing with estranged Bad Boy artist Ma$e.

“Me and Ma$e are cool,” Diddy said. “We’ve kept in touch over the years. I love Ma$e. If it wasn’t for Ma$e, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Me and him were like Batman and Robin. It felt good to get back on a record with him.” (Hot 97)

Last month, Dep released a statement on his guilty verdict.

Two days after being convicted of second-degree murder, G. Dep spoke exclusively to MTV News on Thursday (April 19), where he reacted to the verdict from behind bars. “However it went down, it was just one of them things where I knew I was facing some type of charge, so whatever the verdict was, I knew it was God’s will,” Dep told us by phone as he awaits sentencing in lockup. Despite the outcome, the 37-year-old seemed at peace with the judgment call. “You know, someone was taken from [the John Henkel] family, so I can’t feel like I was robbed in any kind of way,” he said. “I just want to thank everyone that was involved in the case. I don’t have no ill thoughts towards anybody.” (MTV)

Recently, Ma$e also killed the notion of an underlying beef existing between him and Puff.

“Nah, we surprised each other. Diddy, it is Diddy. To this day, I tell people I don’t have no issues with him. I think a lot of times we get put on the other side of each other, just because of history. He’s one of the biggest contributors who ever gave to the church. We’re probably cooler than I thought.” (Hot 97)
