Music mogul Diddy is making sure fans know it’s deeper than bankrolls. The hip-hop icon has shared an inspirational message to all of his fans.

Puff Daddy went to Instagram Saturday (March 3) with a pic of himself alongside JAY-Z and message about empowering black excellence globally.

This week, JAY made headlines after finally dethroning Puffy from Forbes‘ annual Hip-Hop Wealthiest list.

Jay-Z upped his net worth from $810 million to $900 million over the past year, seizing hip-hop’s cash crown for the first time since Forbes started counting back in 2011. The Brooklyn-born mogul’s jump is due mostly to the rising value of his interests in Armand de Brignac champagne and D’Ussé cognac, on top of nine-figure ownership stakes in his Roc Nation empire and Tidal streaming service. Dre ranks third with $770 million, creeping upward thanks to the market trends boosting his nine-figure windfall from Apple’s $3 billion buyout of Beats in 2014. (Forbes)

Rap stars Drake and Eminem also managed to lock-in spots on the prestigious list.

No. 4: It’s a tie between Drake and Eminem, with each said to be worth $100 million. It’s the first appearance on the list for the 45-year-old Eminem, who is back on the road after delivering Revival, his first new album in four years. Drake, who at 31 is the youngest man on the list, also relied on ticket sales. And not to be left out, he also has an equity interest in a liquor company, Virginia Black whiskey. (USA Today)

Last year, Diddy held onto a consecutive streak of bragging rights with wealth adding up to nearly a billi.

The rapper needs just $200 million to become a billionaire and if he continues at the pace he’s going, he’ll probably get there in less than five years. Sean “Diddy” Combs was ranked No. 1 on Forbes’ recent list of the five richest hip-hop artists for 2017 and the financial news outlet estimates his net worth to be $820 million, marking his seventh consecutive year on top of the list.
