Bad Boy Records CEO Diddy and Hollywood star Mark Wahlberg have hooked up and will expand their growing résumés by launching a new joint venture with water brand AQUAhydrate.
Details of the unexpected partnership bubbled online Wednesday (February 27) afternoon.
Entertainment powerhouse Sean “Diddy” Combs and actor/producer Mark Wahlberg today announced a joint venture with Southern California-based fitness and wellness water brand, AQUAhydrate. Per the arrangement, Combs and Wahlberg will oversee business strategy along with CEO John Cochran, formerly President of Fiji Water. Together they will help drive the AQUAhydrate vision and be instrumental in helping secure retail partnerships for the water brand, such as their recently signed deals with Safeway, Kroger and GNC. Puffy has also released a statement to explain the motivation for trying his hand in the health-based venture.
“As a brand architect, I am incredibly passionate and equally committed to every aspect of the businesses that I get involved with,” says Combs. “Partnering with AQUAhydrate and Mark is an incredible opportunity for me and I am looking forward to making history in the process. It’s important for me to be part of something that drives me and is constantly pushing the boundaries, and that’s what AQUAhydrate does. Together, we’re going to take AQUAhydrate to the next level.” (Statement)
In late January, the music mogul hinted at something stirring between himself and the water beverage company.
Yesterday, Diddy tweeted about AquaHydrate, which he described as the best water in the world before telling us where we could buy our own: “This is the best water in the world. Everyone should try it! Get it at your local GNC, Whole Foods, Bristol instagr.am/p/VARDZpplog” (Hashtags & Stilettos)
The news comes weeks after AQUAhydrate hooked up with the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers basketball team.
Today, AQUAhydrate announced that it has aligned with the Clippers for the 2012-2013 NBA season. According to a press release, AQUAhydrate will be stocked in the team’s training facility and at Clippers games. “Staying well-hydrated on and off the court is an essential key to performing at the top of your game,” Nate Puksta, AQUAhydrate’s V.P. of marketing, said in the release. “AQUAhydrate’s high pH levels and performance-grade electrolytes are just what the Clippers need to help achieve this.” (BEVNET)
