Bad Boy Records CEO Diddy is ready to put his money where his mouth is following Tuesday's announcement by the National Basketball Association (NBA) that Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling has been banned for life.
Puff Daddy acknowledged the big news and offered to buy the franchise.
“I will always be a Knicks fan, but I am a business man. #DiddyBuyTheClippers #NameYourPrice,” Puff wrote April 29.

The news even sparked a reaction from former Bad Boy artist Jadakiss.

The NBA announced its hefty punishment against Sterling early Tuesday.
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver issued sweeping sanctions against Donald Sterling on Tuesday morning in response to controversial remarks about blacks purportedly made by Sterling. Silver said the Clippers owner was banned from any association with the team for life and fined $2.5 million. Silver added that he would urge other owners to force a sale of the team. For the time being, Sterling’s wife may serve as the team’s active owner.
“There has been no decision about other members of his family,” Silver said. “This ruling applies specifically to Donald Sterling and Donald Sterling only.” A high-level NBA executive told the Daily News before Silver’s press conference Tuesday afternoon that he believed Silver could allow Shelly Sterling to assume control of the team, in effect operating as a managing general partner.
