Music moguls Diddy and Beyoncé are sitting on top of the competition. The duo have toppled fellow high-profile stars like Drake and Justin Bieber on Forbes‘ annual Highest-Paid Musicians list.
This year, Puff Daddy reigns supreme with $130 million to his name with Queen Bey following behind at $105 million.
That Diddy reign just won’t let up. Forbes released its annual Highest-Paid Musicians of 2017 list, and Diddy has once again been crowned the highest-paid artist of the year, with Beyoncé, Drake, The Weeknd and Coldplay trailing behind. Four black artists lead the pack on this year’s list compared to last year’s roundup, where Taylor Swift ($170 million) took the top spot as One Direction ($110 million), Adele ($88 million), Madonna ($76.5 million) and Rihanna ($75 million) followed suit. A few weeks prior, Puff Daddy landed on Forbes‘ Hip-Hop’s Wealthiest Artists 2017 list with rap stars Jay Z and Drake.
The only thing more predictable than a Diddy name change? His place atop our annual list of the wealthiest hip-hop artists. But the man formally known as Sean Combs now has some real competition. Jay Z’s fortune has jumped 30% in the past year after a $200 million investment from Sprint reportedly put the valuation of his music-streaming service, Tidal, at $600 million, more than 10 times what he paid for the company two years ago.
