Music mogul Diddy has plenty to smile about in 2017. The hip-hop mogul has toppled his competition atop Forbes‘ Highest-Paid Celebrities 2017 list.

Puff Daddy’s $130 million gave him the edge over longtime pal Beyoncé and author J.K. Rowling.

A few weeks ago, Puff Daddy landed on Forbes‘ Hip-Hop’s Wealthiest Artists 2017 list with rap stars Jay Z and Drake.

The only thing more predictable than a Diddy name change? His place atop our annual list of the wealthiest hip-hop artists. But the man formally known as Sean Combs now has some real competition. Jay Z’s fortune has jumped 30% in the past year after a $200 million investment from Sprint reportedly put the valuation of his music-streaming service, Tidal, at $600 million, more than 10 times what he paid for the company two years ago.
