1. Deeper Than Rap
Detroit’s been in the headlines for a few days now because of the Rick Ross incident but there’s a more serious matter at hand with the city turning off water to residents? As if things weren’t already bad for the city. Slate has the info:
Desperate calls for help from the United Nations aren’t just for war-torn and developing nations anymore. The city of Detroit—a city that has been on the brink in many ways—in an effort to balance its books, has begun shutting off water access to city residents behind on their payments. While that may seem like what happens to anyone when they don’t pay their bills, Detroit is a unique case—nearly half of the 323,900 residents who use the utility are delinquent, according to the Detroit Free Press. To make matters worse, Al-Jazeera America reports, Detroit’s average monthly water bill is nearly double the national average of $40. The Detroit City Council approved a 9 percent hike last week. 2. The Sizzurp Man
Is Rob Kardashian losing it? Unfortunately it seems like things are getting a bit more serious for the reality television cast member and it’s involving some heavy drinking. TMZ is on it:
Rob Kardashian’s family wants Rob to get help for what they say is a very bad drug problem … sources directly connected with the family tell TMZ.
Our sources say the family is well aware of what has been going on with Rob, depicted by these photos during a drug-fueled party a few days ago.
You can see Rob holding a double cup … the container of choice for Sizzurp. The cup on the table actually has the words, “Codeine Boys” emblazoned on it. He’s also seen smoking weed. (TMZ)
In all fairness, is codeine even popular anymore? It seems like the trend has really died out. What will help Rob snap out of it and get his life back together? #SOHHWhatchaThink?
3. Publicity Stunt?
Did Kim K really just play peek-a-boob? It seems like her recent Instagram selfie is causing up a stir. Was her wig photo really a ploy? Page Six is on it:
Kim Kardashian traded her brunette locks for blonde wig on Wednesday and couldn’t wait to share the drastic new look with her Instagram followers.
In true Kardashian fashion, she snapped a selfie, but might have exposed more than she wanted.
Looking closely, it appears her right nipple is poking through her flesh colored top. Whether her nipple is actually exposed or is just emphasized by her tight-fitting top is unclear, but the snapshot creates an unforgettable image.
“It’s just a wig! Looks so real though right?” Mrs. West, 33, captioned the photo. (Page Six)
