“Degrassi: The Next Generation” show co-creator Linda Schuyler has stepped forward to deny claims by former cast member Drake of being kicked off.
According to Schuyler, Drizzy’s character “Jimmy Brooks” ran its course on the show.
“I’m hoping there was just some miscommunication here, because if that’s the perception nothing could make me sadder,” she told BuzzFeed Canada. “From my point of view, the timing was absolutely brilliant because we knew Aubrey was juggling his music. Not only did we know it, we helped him with it. … His character had run its course, so we were nothing but supportive.” (Buzzfeed)
Drake recently said his dedication to music resulted in him being let go.
“I’d sleep in my dressing room and then be in front of the cameras again by 9 a.m.,” he said. “Eventually, they realized I was juggling two professions and told me I had to choose. I chose this life.” (W Magazine)
Last night (October 18), Drake announced plans to release his “Hotline Bling” music video.
Earlier this month, Drizzy revealed plans to release a “Hotline Bling” music video.
