While he would not confirm or deny the project’s existence, Sean hinted at the mysterious group effort possibly dropping unexpectedly.

“It’s almost spring now, I don’t know, I thought it was, maybe it is, maybe it isn’t, you just gotta wait and see, maybe a surprise for you guys,” Sean said in an interview. “I didn’t know if Cruel Summer was gonna drop. And that b*tch dropped. Whatever we do though, we’re gonna keep doing stuff, people will love it. If y’all like that Cruel Summer, y’all like them albums, we take our time with it, we get it right. You’ll get it in due time. You’ll get it when it’s right.” (Karma Loop)

Just last month, Sean promised the rumored group project was still in the works.

“Yeah, I hear it’s coming,” Sean said in an interview with radio host Jenny Boom Boom when asked about the LP possibly being delayed indefinitely. “I don’t want to spill the beans. I’m pretty sure, I’m pretty sure you’re gonna get it soon, sooner than you think. You know, who knows? It’s gonna be an awesome project and like I said, you’re gonna get my project, you’re gonna get Pusha T‘s album later on this year, Teyana Taylor‘s album, Common.” (“Jenny Boom Boom”)

G.O.O.D. Music’s Pusha T recently spoke on label head Kanye West‘s timing issues possibly delaying the album’s release indefinitely.

“I can tell you right now, I probably have 15 verses that are just over beats, that are lying around wherever ‘Ye and his hard drive is right now,” he said. “And I’m sure Cyhi, Sean, Cudi, Tip, everybody has other production or verses on these records as well.” It’s no secret that Kanye is very guarded about his studio work and it is with reason, Push says. “I think ‘Ye really tries to keep the brand, keep it up to a certain standard and piecing together a record like that, it’s just not gonna work,” he said. Chicago rapper Common crushed fans’ hopes after claiming the LP would likely never drop in an interview last January.

Does G.O.O.D. Music really have a Cruel Winter album coming? Oh, yeah, nah, nah. I don’t think that’s happening. It was more of a rumor — cats been creating, but everybody’s been doing their solo album. So that’s what that is. (Vulture)
