Tired of staying inside? Need a reason to head out? Need a back-up movie with Black Panther still sold out everywhere?
Today, check out the top five reasons you should head out and watch David Oyelowo‘s new Gringo movie when it arrives in theaters Friday, March 9. [Be sure to read each reason and grab your Los Angeles and Atlanta screening passes right now!]
Reason 1: The Laugh Factor
The first reason you should go out and watch Gringo when it hits theaters Friday, March 9 is because of the humor element. Just from the trailer alone you can tell you’re going to be in for some laughs. A bit dark comedy and a bit of straight up wild antics, this film looks like it has the makings of a silly but fun until the credits roll up type of vibe to it. With superhero movies ready to once again dominate the entire late spring and all summer, it’s refreshing to take a mental break from the purple blasts and flying machines and go with something a little bit more down to earth and very modern day.
Reason 2: The Star-Studded Cast
The second reason you should go check this out is because of the amazing cast. Not only do you have superstars like Charlize Theron and Nash Edgerton producing it but they’re also playing key roles in the overall film. Everyone from Joel Edgerton – who recently starred opposite Will Smith in Netflix’s Bright movie – and Paris Jackson to Amanda Seyfried and Thandie Newton have pretty significant roles. And of course let’s not forget David Oyelowo who steals the spotlight as your typical businessman who gets caught up in a sticky situation which has him generating more laughs than you can imagine just based off what the trailer teases.
Reason 3: Under 2 Hours
The third reason is pretty big – it’s under two hours. Not to complain much but there’s nothing worse than having to sit through almost 30 minutes of movie previews and then over 2 hours worth of screen time. Even the best movies can cause a major strain if you’re propped in your movie seat for too long. The movie clocks in at an easy 1 hour 50 minutes which is more than understandable and let’s you know you can look forward to a movie with plenty of sequences and doesn’t rush to get to the end but also doesn’t overstay its welcome with too much unnecessary elements.
Reason 4: Nash Edgerton
The fourth reason it’s worth going to check out Gringo is because of Nash Edgerton. He has played some pretty key roles in box office smashes in the past and this new flick could really help padden his stats. From working on The Matrix trilogy and Superman Returns to Zero Dark Thirty, The Wolverine, The Great Gatsby and The Equalizer – amongst other big movies, this should really place him in a high Hollywood spot especially if the overall reception and box office numbers look good.
Reason 5: The Weed Pill
The fifth reason you should go check out Gringo is because – well – it’s sort of a weed movie and let’s face it, those are typically pretty funny. Whether it’s the classic Cheech & Chong series or Pineapple Express, there’s just something funny about weed flicks. This takes that genre a little bit further by turning cannabis into an actual pill form and then mixing in some cartels – needless to say, this is going to be all sorts of crazy antics from start to finish!
