New York rapper Dave East knows there is only one hip-hop icon worthy enough to claim king of his city. The Mass Appeal Records protégé has weighed-in on the sudden “King of New York” debate.

East went to Instagram Sunday (March 4) to disassociate himself from the discussion but also reference the late Notorious B.I.G. a.k.a. Frank White as the city’s true king.

This weekend, Bronx rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie threw his name into the “King of New York” debate.

KING OF NY? Besides HOV who fuckin wit me?🤣🤣🤣👽🎨
