Veteran comedian Dave Chappelle‘s finally coming to a TV set near you. Sorta. The former Comedy Central star is slated to host NBC’s long-running “Saturday Night Live” next week.
Barring any changes, Chappelle will grace the stage for the show’s November 12 broadcast.
Comic Dave Chappelle is set to make his Saturday Night Live debut as host of the November 12 show — the first one after Election Day. A Tribe Called Quest, which is releasing its first album since 1998 the day before, will be the musical guest on NBC’s late-night stalwart. (Deadline)
Recent reports claimed Chappelle tried out some material based on presidential candidate Donald Trump at a New York comedy club.
Fans were not allowed to record the gig or take pics, and even had their “phones stored in soundproof cases” till the concert was over, spies said. New jokes included cracks about the election and Donald Trump’s infamous “Access Hollywood” tape. “He said he was staying at the Trump Soho and grabbed one of the maids by the ‘p—y’ and told her, ‘It’s OK! Your boss said it’s all right,’” a spy said. (Page Six)
Back in September, rap star Rick Ross rubbed elbows with Chappelle and other high-profile comedians.
