Grieving Parents Of Daunte Wright Thank Protestors + Supporters

Earlier this month, Daunte Wright’s mother, Katie Wright, thanked the people who have protested on behalf of her son. Daunte, 20, was killed on April 11 when police officer Kim Potter shot him during a traffic stop. Potter claims she mistook her gun for her taser.

“Thank you, so much, for the support and standing by us and making sure my son’s name has been heard and asking for justice.”

Daunte’s father, Aubrey Wright, also weighed in on the officer’s explanation.

Daunte Wright’s Cop Shooter Resigns

Last week, according to reports, the white cop who killed Wright resigned 48 hours after the world took action with Black Lives Matter protests and awareness. The city’s police chief also resigned along with the cop.

The resignations from Officer Kim Potter and Police Chief Tim Gannon came two days after the death of 20-year-old Daunte Wright in Brooklyn Center. Potter, a 26-year veteran, had been on administrative leave following Sunday’s shooting, which happened as the Minneapolis area was already on edge over the trial of the first of four police officers in George Floyd’s death.
