The reason why everyone is still so infatuated with Houston is because most of this country have never been able to get a feel for an artist on a nationwide level consistently who embodies Houston culture.
Naturally, and that’s nothing against anybody from Houston, we do well at home. We don’t need to go blow up on the East Coast. We’re good.
We can sell more records than most major artists. Slim Thug as well. I just talked to him recently and he’s good.
Lil’ Flip was almost there. He’s a good friend of mine as well. But nobody really held onto it. Listen to Chamillionaire and tell me he’s not confident. Nobody really held onto it.
That’s the only real difference between me and those legends. I intend to be that. I intend to be the embodiment of that culture.
Grillz won’t die out in Houston. My daddy had a grill. It was never a fad here. It’s a culture to the city. It’s a fad elsewhere so when they see me and hear me, people know it’s not another cat trying to rap on Atlanta beats and sound like I’m from Atlanta.

I might rap on an Atlanta beat but I’m going to rap like I’m from Houston. I might rap on a Just Blaze beat, lyrical as h*ll but I’m going to still rap like I’m from Houston.
That’s the real difference.
I’m going to give you the authentic culture of Houston.
