Young Money manager Cortez Bryant has come forward to clear up speculation and gossip about Lil Wayne signing a deal with rap mogul Jay Z.

According to Bryant, Wayne’s publicized comments stemmed from his situation with Jay’s streaming music service Tidal.

“The Internet and blogs took his words out of context,” Bryant tells Billboard. “When Wayne was speaking about the partnership with Jay Z, he was speaking about his new deal as an artist owner with Tidal.” (Billboard)

Footage of Weezy F. Baby breaking the major news to fans at radio station KMEL’s annual Summer Jam concert surfaced this weekend.

“I just signed a deal with my motherf*cking idol, Jay Z.”

Wayne surprised hip-hop heads with remixes to “Off The Rip” and “Hot Boy” Friday (June 12).

Jay Z’s music streaming service Tidal announced a deal with Lil Wayne earlier this month.

“We’re honored for Lil Wayne to join TIDAL,” said TIDAL’s Vania Schlogel in a press release. “His eagerness to release an exclusive TIDAL track and schedule a TIDAL X performance is just another example of how passionately artists care about getting their music to fans.” Additionally, TIDAL has rolled out an official desktop app and says discounted pricing for students is coming soon. Presented as a Tidal-exclusive, Wayne’s new “Glory” song premiered in early June.
