New Jersey rapper Fetty Wap has some explaining to do thanks to a store clerk who claims the overnight hip-hop star’s crew attacked him in a grocery store last week.

According to reports, the attack went down in Fetty Wap’s native New Jersey state at a local grocery store.

Cops in Paramus, NJ tell us the 19-year-old Shop Rite clerk claims a female patron slapped him Friday night, and then her male friends jumped in and started whupping him in the middle of the store. TMZ obtained this video of the melee. The clerk told cops he thought one of the male attackers was Fetty Wap, but admits he’s not positive it was the rapper because of all the commotion. He only suffered minor injuries and doesn’t want to press charges … but if cops can ID Fetty as one of the suspects, he could still be arrested. (TMZ)

Wap recently talked about the story behind purchasing his dreads.

“They’re real dreads, but I didn’t grow them. It’s a lady that I know from Newark, [New Jersey] who cut her hair off. She was a powerful person to me. She spoke a lot of positive things. You don’t just put anybody’s hair on your head. Since I did it, the last 50 songs I’ve did, I’ve recorded, they’ve all been some of the hottest songs I’ve did, just from the good energy I’ve been getting.” (Hot 97)

Fetty jumped onto social media recently to touch up on his new look.
